How do you pick a Stand-By Generator? Well, if you go to a Big Box store you use price as your guide. If you ask the lowest price installer, he will sell you the one he has the most stock of or the one they have a deal on. Neither of these methods provides you, the customer, with a product that serves your needs. Neither of these methods explains what models perform well or have the best warranty. In fact, you may spend more for that great portable with installation, than you would for a permanently installed Stand-By Generator.
Our method is the old fashioned one. We ask the customer what they expect the generator to do and then we recommend the best product to fill their needs. We are not restricted to brand, fuel type or our special of the month. We do not order a generator until we decide on the appropriate product. The brands we represent are Briggs and Stratton (over 100 years in the small engine business), Generac (almost 60 years in the stand by generator business), Siemens and Eaton / Cutler Hammer.
Rader Electric has been installing Stand-By Generators since 1985 one customer at a time.
